The nominations for the 75th Golden Globes Awards are out.  The nominations were announced today in Beverly Hills, California.

“Get Out,” the 2017 thiller, written and directed by comedian Jordan Peele was nominated for “best Motion picture, musical or comedy.”  The film’s leading man Daniel Kaluuya is also up for the “best performance by an actor in a Motion picture, Musical or Comedy.”

Actress Octavia Spencer was nominated in the “best supporting actress” category for her role in the movie “The Shape of Water.”  Legendary singer Mary J. Blige was nominateed in the same category for her role  in “Mudbound,” but that’s not it!  Mary also received another nomination for her song “Mighty River,” written for the Netflix film.

(Our friend in our head…LOL)  Issa Rae, creator and actress of HBO’s “Insecure” grabs a nomination for “best performance by an Actress in a Television series, musical or comedy.”  Others up for Golden Globe awards include; ABC’s “Black-ish‘s Anthony Anderson and NBC’s “This Is Us.”

Congratulations to all the nominations.  The 75th Golden Globe Awards will air on January 7th, 2018.
