CitySTYLE – StyleTRENDS: What’s In and Out for 2015

First of all, I can’t believe it’s actually 2015! When I was in the 8th grade, I thought in 2015 we would be wearing clothing that looked like it was from NASA. I thought everyone would have purple hair and wear glasses that could see into the future.

Sounds crazy, but I wasn’t too far off, last season was all about bright colored hair. Liquid leggings and slim fit leather pants were big this season, add a fitted cowl neck sweatshirt and the look is very spaceman! And don’t get me started with those dang Goggle glasses; they can see into the future right?

2014 was a great time for fashion. We saw a number of trends from the 90’s like plaid and gingham prints. Bold lips were also in for 2014, as well as the no-makeup/makeup look. So what looks can we keep for 2015 and which should we toss? Here’s CitySTYLE’s StyleTRENDS forecast for 2015.

Hair

Ombre Hair: Out / Balayage Hair: IN

Don’t get us wrong, we love the Ombre trend but in 2015, we’re trading the not so subtle light/dark contrast for the softer, less noticeable regrowth look of Balayage.

Hair

Makeup

Bold Lips: OUT / Soft Pink Lips: IN

Don’t throw out all of your blue lipstick yet, there’s a time and place for a beautiful bold lip but in 2015, it’s all about the soft natural pink colors. Bonus: The no-makeup/makeup look is still in!

Fashion

Plaid: OUT  / Large Gingham Prints: IN

We love plaid and if you grew up in the 90’s you probably have some “vintage” plaid button up shirts. In 2015, we’re trading the classic plaid for large gingham prints. Find this trend in skirts, blouses and jackets.

Owning your personal style: ALWAYS IN!

The biggest style trend of 2015 is Confidence! Looking good and feeling good is always a good look!
